Here are my suggestions/thoughts for the autumn and winter programme. 'Homegrown' - a season of short films by London-based filmmakers such as Ben Honeylove and Ivan Madeira.
"Best of British" - three classic films - The original Italian Job (timeless and the perfect antidote to the never-ending recession), Excalibur (30 years old this summer but well worth viewing as a counterpoint to TV's Camelot); Withnail and I (eminently quotable).
"Summon the Heroes" - two great superhero movies - Iron Man 2 and Superman the Movie.
"Happy Halloween" - a spooky double bill for All Hallows Eve with The Lost Boys and The Descent.
"Watch The Skies!" - SF chills with The Invasion of the Bodysnatchers and The Thing.
"Blockbuster" - big 90s action with Independence Day and Armageddon.
"Cosmic Soup" - mind-blowing funky fun with Dark Star and Mystery Science Theatre 3000.
"Cops and Robbers" - London Boulevard and Serpico.

Amazing list! My top 3 would be 'The 39 Steps' (Hitchcock version), any of the 'Alien' films and 'A Room With A View'.

Actually I can't keep it down to 3 films! My favourite films in no particular order are: It's a Wonderful Life, Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan, Excalibur, Brazil, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Aliens!
Films I think people should see include Once were Warriors, a very powerful film from New Zealand and Akira, THE Manga movie in my opinion!!

I love micmacs in the foreign category! I also love the Back to the Future movies I think they are classics. Sabrina is also an excellent girlie movie.
