Entry is still a low £3, doors will open at 6pm on Sunday 4th March so you can get a drink and some food and find a seat before the film starts at 6.30pm.  Tickets are on sale at Cafe of Good Hope on Hither Green Lane and You Don’t Bring me Flowers on Staplehurst Road and will be available on the door.

The bar will be open with a selection of wines and beers from the Meantime Brewery, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and homemade cakes, with freshly made pizza and popcorn made on site

Jimmy Gaynor brings 40 years of playing the blues to Hither Green this Sunday with Tony Patience and special guest Cash Teran playing a short country set at 8.15pm hosted by our own Johnny Rhondo.  Doors open at 7.30pm with bar serving Meantime bottled beer with wines, soft drinks and snacks.

Hither Green Cinema presents 2 films to play with your heart strings, be you single or with the love of your life:

Strictly Ballroom (PG)  – Baz Luhrmann writes and directs this Australian Cinderella story about a young girl desperate to dance and a maverick dancer wanting to break out of the old routine and do something new!!  The film that started, years later, the phenomenon that is ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.  Come see the original and the best!! (Australian – No subtitles)

Amelie (15) – The story of a girl sheltered in her youth by her father afraid the world will be too much for her fragile heart grows up to be a young woman with an overly active imagination who creates fantasy worlds on the streets of Paris but finds that her heart has so much to give but will she find love in the real world?? (French – Subtitles)

The bar will be open with a selection of wines and beers from the Meantime Brewery, warm savoury snacks made on site with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and homemade cakes.

Tickets are £5 for the whole night (So get your moneys worth and come and see both films and we will keep you going with food and drink from the kitchen) and will be available from Cafe of Good Hope on Hither Green Lane and You Don’t Bring Me Flowers on Staplehurst Road as well as on the door which opens at 6.00pm.

Guillermo del Toro writes and directs this fairy tale to the back drop of the Spanish Civil War. Ofelia uncovers a strange underworld and the chance to escape the pain and uncertainties of her everyday life, but like any labyrinth you enter, will she be able to escape it and the ‘Pale Man’.

We are also very fortunate to be showing 2 award winning shorts both from Australia but that is where the similarity ends.

Spider – It is a simple thing to say sorry but when you just have to pull one more prank is that a prank too far??  More twists and shocks than you should be able to fit into 9 minutes!!  Thanks to our friends at Blue Tongue Films.

The Cat Piano – A beautifully animated short narrated by Nick Cave.  When the Jazz cats start going missing, someone has to find out what is going on and who is killing the sounds of the streets.  It can only lead to one place….  Thanks to our friends at The People’s Republic of Animation .

As usual beer/wine & tea/cakes will be available and also some hot savoury snacks.
